Amore e Onore
I’m primarily self-taught, but most recently I’ve been taking painting classes at the Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA). This led to displays at the PCCA, the Rochester Hills City Hall, and the Northville Art Center . My paintings are inspired by many things that include Michigan, travels, and my hometown. My compositions seek to invoke feelings in the viewer and a kind of contemplation that may be moving. I try to achieve a similar look in my landscapes that brings out the joy of experiencing art. My style comes through by applying many layers of paint in loose strokes often using large brushes. When I really like the look of an area, no matter how small, I study how I can keep using that success in other places. I’m not satisfied until I feel the piece is consistent and balanced.
